Jamesville is a hamlet in the town of DeWitt, Onondaga County, New York, United States, part of the greater Syracuse area. The main attraction is Jamesville Beach Park at the Jamesville Reservoir. Jamesville Beach Park offers a wide range of facilities including athletic fields, disc golf, playgrounds, swimming, trails, and volleyball.
Jamesville Community Museum – The Jamesville Community museum opened to the public officially on May 4th, 1980. Two exhibits on display at the time continue to be the backbone of the museum’s collection. They are popular, important educationally, and specific to the museum’s mission. One is a fifteen foot diorama depicting the Solvay Process and the raw materials for the process which come from this area, the other is a noteworthy collection of local and New York State minerals.
Jamesville Beach Park – The clear, cool waters of Jamesville Reservoir and sparkling Butternut Creek offer the ideal place to cool off on a hot summer day. At the beach, 100 yards of lifeguarded waterfront up to 4′ shallow water area, a 7′-10′ deep water zone and a 3000 square foot inflatable raft zone. The deep water area includes a floating raft which provides experienced swimmers a cool place to hang out, sunbathe or demonstrate their cannonball technique.
